Hi! I'm Kate sensei. I'm 33 years old and I graduated from Our Lady of Fatima University with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing last 2011. I have been teaching English for almost five years now, both online and one on one/in-person lessons. I worked as an Online English Tutor for three years in a Japanese-owned company based in Tokyo. My hobbies are watching Korean and American dramas, reading articles, and updating my social media accounts. I currently live in Japan. I'm studying the Japanese language and culture. The best thing I love about Japanese people is their discipline and politeness. My favorite Japanese foods are ramen, sushi, and miso soup. Miso soup is my soul food in Japan.
Hi! I'm Sensei Kate. I am a Bachelor's degree holder and is currently staying in Japan for good.
I have been teaching English for 12 years now, both online and man-to-man type of lectures. I'd be honored to meet new students in my class. My lecture typically depends on each student's level. I use this unique strategy from what I learned in studying my Nursing major to teaching English which I call the ADPIE approach. It's a step-by-step process of teaching. At first, I 'assess' my students' level in English through an interview while building rapport. Next, I 'diagnose' the client's level during the first class. In the third step, I 'plan' each student's individual learning approach and strategies for lesson execution. Fourth, I do my 'interventions' during the class, such as article discussions, storytelling, free conversations, practicing pronunciation, and so on. The last step is to 'evaluate' the students and discover ways to improve their English more and more. I, myself, know how it feels like to study a new language. I am also studying Japanese as my third language. That's why I am a persistent teacher because I know the frustration and stress of wanting to speak a new language fluently and with ease. This is one of the reasons I’m very patient when it comes to teaching, especially when teaching children or beginners.
