I'm Joan from the Philippines. I was a preschool and a kindergarten English teacher here in Tokyo. I stopped because a better opportunity came to my life. I am now working in one of the most prestigious schools in Ichikawa, Chiba. I am handling the English Conversation courses of the elementary level students, junior high school, and senior high school students. I am also teaching Business and TOIEC classes in my second job. I'm a licensed Professional Teacher with more than 4 years of teaching experience (preschool to adults). With me, you can go into smooth lessons even for the first time! I was helping preschool kids to develop their full potentials through engaging them in practical activities, exploratory learning, and content-based approach. This is also to help them to be globally and culturally aware and informed about the world that we live in.
Now, I am currently working in one of the most prestigious schools in Ichikawa, Chiba. I am teaching the English Conversation courses in the elementary, junior high school, and senior high school students. I am also teaching Business and TOIEC classes in my second job.
My relevant qualifications include my Bachelor’s degree in English Major in Applied Linguistics and a Licensed Professional Teacher. I am currently taking my Full Certificate Program in TESOL. I have attended many workshops to enhance and update my techniques for a more effective and active learning for the kids. Now, I am having a part-time job and this is also helping me a lot in dealing with the different kinds of methods and approaches in teaching effectively. Also of note, I was a part ¬time English and Literature University Instructor at Cebu Technological University- Cebu City, Philippines. Also, I was an English as a Second Language ( ESL) teacher with the Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean students of all ages (kindergarten to adults) for more than two years.
