I am a Japanese citizen and I have been exposed to an international culture since the age of 3. Throughout the years, I have lived in 5 countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, Mexico and now currently studying in Canada, University of British Columbia) and through living abroad, I have had the chance to experience distinct lifestyles learning about the culture and social norms of these countries. (By doing so, I have become an open minded individual with an appreciation of different cultures.) I am able to speak 4 languages fluently, English being my first language (Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese).
I am passionate about community service and have been working as a volunteer in many organizations throughout the world, and I am currently an executive member of the Doctors without Borders club at my University. During the summer, I am a swim coach at the Ashiya Swimming School for first grade students so I am very passionate about working with children.
I have always worked with children so my lesson methods are usually through playing with children in English with the aid of picture books and coloring books. (In other words, conversational/social English) However, I have tutored high school/university students as well and helped the with their english essays so I am also available to help you academically.
(I am able to help you with both grammatically correct English and conversational slangs as well)
